How IBM saved my trip

I finally got my computer fixed after leaving my laptop less than 24Hours at the Hong Kong IBM repair center. They replaced the motherboard, the keyboard and the power inlet. They are waiting few parts: new LCD screen, new touchPad. I have to say that I was really impressed by the turn around time and the work done. All that for nothing as my laptop is still under warranty.

Being back online I'll be able to share with you some new regarding my trip in Asia.

In the mean time Heidi landed few hours ago in Illinois, USA.

Today Matthieu has taken another flight, this time to Hong Kong. An appointment has been made for tomorrow morning to see about getting the laptop fixed. Let's hope that they can get it done in 1 day like they would have in Singapore (had it not been a bank holiday weekend).

Japanese meal in Singapore

After my laptop passed over while flying over India, Aki and Kinuko decided to introduce me to a real Japanese feast.
I guess they saw how sad I was not to be with Heidi and that on top of my recent loss (my laptop) didn't help. Anyway I really enjoyed different types of Sushis, chicken teriyaki, raw fish with obviously a lot of Wasabi!!!!

Almost uneventful flight

Well, after a 13 hour flight on Singapore Airlines Matt is safely back on solid ground. Only his laptop didn't make it.

Don't worry, the hard drive is still ok. But unfortunately thanks to the bank holiday weekend, IBM offices are closed, so repairs will have to wait till Hong Kong.

*fingers crossed*

A qui le tour?

Saturday afternoon walk

Richard, Rachel, Cedric, Timothee, Heidi, Daniel & Anne out for a walk in the Bracknell Forest on an almost sunny Saturday afternoon.


We spent the evening watching Miss Europe contest and The Emperor's New Groove (Cusco). As usual Richard and I spent some time looking at the latest news on the Mac world as well as new gadgets like my VOIP and the Lyrics Projector sotware I'm working on.

How is it going?

Well it's not going too bad, but I have a lot of work and my trips are postponed, re scheduled, cancelled.

Apart from that, Pino and Claudius visited us for a few days and we spent some times together watching the movie "Ray".


Greg also came around for the week end, we went to "Moor Close Nights", argued about details like tornados, typhoons, cyclones and finally enjoyed "Million Baby Dollar".

Unlimited calls to the USA/ Western Europe

We've now switched to a VOIP system. We have a St Joseph, Michigan phone number and people around Andrews can call us for the cost of a local call.

On the other hand we can call unlimited the USA, Canada, and Western Europe (UK, Germany, France, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Luxembourg, Vatican City, Norway, Portugal, and Spain. Calls to mobile phones, premium and special service numbers in these areas are not included.)

US includes AK, HI, PR, USVI and calls to cellular phones.

The cost of this plan is only $20 a month (much cheaper than what we used to pay). The service is quite good (depends on your internet connection) and the support service excellent.
