Winning is fun :)

I signed up for a contest a while back, and come to find out I won 2 tickets to see a pre-screening of 'Bourne Ultimatum' in San Diego tonight :) (3 whole days before the movie came out !!!)

All I'll say is that: if you like action movies, you'll like this one :)

Today was filled with fun, friends, family, and lots of frogs !

Luke has turned 2 (official birthday on tuesday though, so he'll have 2 celebrations :) )

Feeling like Noah ...

Well, we didn't wake up to anything quite exactly like this picture ...

... but we did wake up to a lot of water.

A pipe burst upstairs this morning and thoroughly soaked the upstairs bathroom. Since there's no place for water to go but down, it went through the carpet AND the padding AND the floorboards and created a large pool of water on the other side of our kitchen wall. All in all we had roughly about 1" of water on our kitchen floor.

Several (very wet) hours later, the two of us have managed to sop most of it up and set up a fan to try to dry the rest.

How is it that pipes only break on Saturdays ????

Saying hello to the Simpsons

Although we originally meant to just go and watch the new 'Transformers' movie (which was awesome, by the way), we stopped to say hello to the Simpsons on our way home :)

A day of happiness when Matt received his new 21.6" screen.

It came a day early and we had to kind of scramble to get things moved around and ready for it. In any case, it's pretty and Matt likes it. Life is good :)

Fun in the sun

Summer is officially here. And we have hit the beach.

Today was my first ever shot at body boarding and (thanks to my patient teacher, Matt) I was able to catch quite a few waves before we headed home.

Claim Jumper's

Happy Bastille Day !! :)

In celebration of Bastille Day (and because we were just plain hungry), today was our very first experience at "Claim Jumper's", a restaurant where the portions are absolutely enormous. Jason, Heidi and Luke helped us along on our journey through ordering (there's a ton of stuff and options on the menu) as well as the 8-layer chocolate cake.

Yes, you read correctly (and I did NOT make a typo). 8-layers. It's about 1/3 of the size of Luke !!! Suffice it to say, it took the 5 of us to eat that 1 slice (and not all in 1 sitting :P ).

We almost had to roll ourselves out of that restaurant when we were finished.

Lots of food, but definitely worth the experience :D

Woo hoo !

A little milestone for the car, on my way to VBS.

Though I probably should have pulled over and taken a more proper picture (yes, I know that it's all dusty, thank you), I managed to get in the shadow of a big trailer to help reduce the reflection.

10,000 miles in 6 months is probably a little on the high-end of car usage, but hey, here, everything is at least 30 minutes away :P

Decorating the farm

VBS decorations were in full swing today.
I don't think I've seen so many horseshoes in one place !

In any case, I had fun getting all my supplies ready for the week. I'm in charge of all the crafts that the kids will be putting together this week.

Yay :) I'm excited.

WOM July

Word of Mouth ... it's what gets us all together ... it's one way of spreading God's message.

Our youth group got together for a songfest and to contemplate a concept or two.
