Tu tu (or 6 1/2) Tango

Ending the year eating with friends and family. We met on International Drive (where you have Disney World and a mess load of restaurants of pretty much anything you could think of to eat), we go a taste of some Spanish flavor for 2008 :)

Happy New Year everyone !!

Saying goodbye to Mom

Saying bye isn't fun, but on the way to the airport, Mom and I managed a few smiles (due to my silliness with my camera).

It was good having some time with her (in warm weather ;) ) and now had to share her with Dad :) (he's arriving from Bolivia tonight and they're meeting up in Kansas City).

I love my family, and being with family at the end and beginning of the year is important to me.

ice ice baby ;)

This year we were coolly welcomed by these colorful, ear-muffed little fishies :) at the ICE! 2007 at the Gaylord Palms Resort.

Mom and the 4 of us stood for a looooong wait in line to get in to see these amazing ice sculptures.

and do you remember our trip to see the exhibit in 2005 ?
we found someone's youtube post of it !! with an interesting sound track (which did not influence this post's title ..... honest !!)

Happy Christmas to all

We're enjoying our vacation in Florida with Heidi's sister and brother-in-law as well as a visit from her mom.

And whether you celebrate Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Deepavali, or even maybe Christmas, we would like to wish you a very special end of the year.

Christmas eve with family

Christmas in Florida, with a twist. No, not a new drink at your local bar, but really our Christmas Eve experience this year. To make things a little different, we made a tossed salad with black olive tapenade, for the main course we had our version of couscous royal. And for dessert, an assortment of pies :)

Check out a few more pictures on the web album.

The tree decked out in red and gold :)
Some colorful fruit to spruce up the holiday table.

In the sky again ...

Back on the road.

Back in the sky.

Though plans to go to South America changed, our Christmas present from Heidi's dad was 2 tickets to Orlando :)

Special thanks to Yvonne who woke up super early and took us to San Diego to catch our flight (and to Donald for taking the kids to school for her :) ).

Christmas in lights

Though a little blurry, we took a whole album of pictures at the Del Mar Christmas Light display :)

Zulita, Gordon, Matt & I had fun going around the race track and seeing all the light displays.

Merrrrrry Christmas ;)

Joyeux Noel ... Provence-style :)

The Alliance Française hosted a French event to celebrate Christmas in Provence. We had southern style bread, and cakes and desserts that would make anyone's mouth water :)

Papa Noel with the 'enfants', listening to everything that they would like for Christmas.

Santa stopped and took a picture with us before heading off to the North Pole ;)

Basiliki Papadopoulos, you will be missed

Today we laid to rest a very special person.

Heidi's maternal great-aunt, Basilia Papadopoulos. Her brother Efino (Heidi's grandpa) couldn't be present for the funeral in Riverside, but we were there to represent Efino's branch of the family tree.
